It’s Official, Oceanside’s Banksy Mural Is Officially A Fakesy

The Culture Lust blog on KPBS.org is reporting they’ve spoken with Banksy’s public relations firm, Acme PR, and they’ve confirmed many of our suspicions by stating the piece is not Banksy’s work. The mural, which showed up last week, was painted on the side of Bull Taco on Coast Highway in Oceanside.

Nancy Willen, from Acme PR, said in her email that they’ve told all the media outlets that have inquired that it’s not by Banksy. She adds, “somehow the story that it’s a Banksy piece persists.”

Hats off to the Bull Taco crew who I am assuming were behind the whole thing. They must’ve noticed all the attention the real Banksy pieces that showed up in L.A. leading up to the Oscars were receiving and hopped on the bus. Pay them a visit, I can’t vouch for their tacos but I had a pretty decent carnitas burrito from there a few weeks back.
