Tony Kornheiser Is Just Creepy……

By Steve, February 24, 2010 8:03 am

Tony Kornheiser, host of ESPN’s weekday show Pardon The Interruption, has been suspended from the network for two weeks starting Monday, after bad-mouthing Hannah Storm’s choice of clothing, according to USA Today. On Friday, Kornheiser called what the ESPN anchor wore a “horrifying outfit” with “red go-go boots” and a skirt that was “way too short for somebody her age.” He added: “She’s what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point.” Kornheiser made the comments Friday on ESPN’s Washington, D.C., affiliate. ESPN executive vice president John Skipper said in a statement that the comments were “entirely inappropriate. Hurtful and personal comments such as these are not acceptable and have significant consequences.” Since the incident, Kornheiser has both apologize on-air as well as to Storm personally and said that he wouldn’t be talking about the mishap in interviews.

Tiago Hoisel

By Logert, February 22, 2010 12:00 pm

You may not know Tiago Hoisel’s name, but chances are, you’ve seen his work. Hoisel has an incredible ability to find the inner cartoon character in just about anyone – and even bring out the real person in cartoon characters. But these are far from sidewalk caricatures… the attention to detail is incredible. The Brazilian artist works primarily in Photoshop CS3. – Full Portfolio

Australia Say’s No Tiny Tit’s…

By Steve, February 4, 2010 7:52 pm

Australian censor board demands large-breasted porn-stars
………… “Australian Classification Board (ACB) is now banning depictions of small-breasted women in adult publications and films. They banned mainstream pornography from showing women with A-cup breasts, apparently on the grounds that they encourage paedophilia, and in spite of the fact this is a normal breast size for many adult women. Presumably small breasted women taking photographs of themselves will now be guilty of creating simulated child pornography, to say nothing of the message this sends to women with modestly sized chests or those who favour them. Australia has also banned pornographic depictions of female ejaculation, a normal orgasmic sexual response in many women, with censors branding it as ‘abhorrent.’”
The Board has also started to ban depictions of small-breasted women in adult publications and films. This is in response to a campaign led by Kids Free 2 B Kids and promoted by Barnaby Joyce and Guy Barnett in Senate Estimates late last year. Mainstream companies such as Larry Flint’s Hustler produce some of the publications that have been banned. These companies are regulated by the FBI to ensure that only adult performers are featured in their publications. “We are starting to see depictions of women in their late 20s being banned because they have an A cup size”, she said. “It may be an unintended consequence of the Senator’s actions but they are largely responsible for the sharp increase in breast size in Australian adult magazines of late”.

John Daly calls it quit

By Logert, January 29, 2010 6:49 pm

In an interview with a Golf Channel producer following rounds of 79-71 that left him well off the cutline at the Farmers Insurance Open, Daly maintained that he no longer will compete on the professional circuit.

“I’m done,” said a forlorn Daly in the Torrey Pines parking lot. “Just can’t play like I used to. … I’m tired of embarrassing myself.” – More Daly

Former Aztec Piercy atop leaderboard at Torrey Pines…

By Steve, January 28, 2010 10:02 pm

LA JOLLA — If his pulse was racing and his heart was fluttering, Scott Piercy did a great job of camouflaging his emotions and controlling his vital signs, as he discussed his leaderboard-topping round on Thursday at the Farmers Insurance Open.  “I’m pretty chill, anyway” Piercy said, by way of assessing his placid demeanor during his red-hot round.
The San Diego State graduate, a veteran of tours both major and minor, played his way into the first-round lead of the third full-field event of the season on the PGA Tour with birdies on the first three holes on the North Course at Torrey Pines.
“The days when you do this, it’s like you’re kind of floating on a cloud,” Piercy said. “The front nine was over before it even started, it seemed like.”

J.D. Salinger … a cruise ship entertainer?

By Steve, January 28, 2010 8:37 pm

Before J.D. Salinger wrote “Catcher in the Rye” or headed off to famous seclusion in New Hampshire, did he serve a brief career as a Caribbean cruise-activities director? Maybe.
At least one biographer, Wikipedia and many other Web sources state that in February 1941, at age 22, Salinger took a job aboard the MS Kungsholm, operated by the Swedish American Line. (Salinger died Jan. 27 in Cornish, N.H. He was 91.)
In the 1999 volume “Salinger: A Biography,” author Paul Alexander mentions the writer’s shipboard stint, citing an interview given by Salinger to another journalist. The shipboard experience “left such a lasting impression on him that years afterward he would still remember fondly his one real venture into live show business,” Alexander wrote. The website cruiselinehistory.com says that Salinger served as entertainment director, but it is mum on its sources. Certainly, 1941 was a busy time in the author’s life. That year, Salinger sold a story each to the New Yorker (though it wasn’t published until years later), Collier’s and Esquire magazines. He also began a romantic relationship with with Oona O’Neill, daughter of playwright Eugene O’Neill. And then in 1942, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and went on to join the war effort in Europe. It may be hard to image the famous recluse calling out bingo numbers and officiating shuffleboard contests. (Doesn’t it seem more likely that he spent a lot of time denouncing phonies and taking the Lord’s name in vain?)
