Atlanta Race – Results & Standings

By Logert, September 12, 2009 4:19 pm

Atlanta Winner:  Ryan

Ryan took Kasey Kahne to win at Atlanta.  Old Harv got a second and had a chance to win but came up short.  Good race.  Today we race at Richmond and it is the last race before the Chase.  Can the Ginger Vickers knock Maaatt Kenseth out of the top 12?  Can Kyle wiggle his way in from 14th?  Gonna be awesome!

STANDINGS as of Atlanta (11 races left)

1ST  -  Josh #14  -  3,311.5 points

2ND  -  Clay #16     -92.5

3RD  -  Chad #99     -116.5

4TH  -  Steve #17     -178

5TH  -  Ryan #18     -227.5

6TH  -  Logan #29     -434

Chad and Clay switch spots.  Josh increases his lead with 11 races left to go.  I continue to hold on to the rear.

XX Sports interview with Scott Hairston – I haven’t written about this yet but I was bummed when I first heard about it. Now that I’ve had time to think about it, I have to think that it’s definitely in the best interests of the organization but it’s really a bummer because he was a good Padre and now Adrian won’t see another pitch to hit until these other guys start hitting. I’ve been complaining about Blanks and Venable needing more playing time to see if they fit in the Padres’ future outfield or not so I guess now they’ll get a chance. As for the PTBNL, I’m with FriarForecast on this one, I’m guessing Towers’ number one guy is Sean Gallagher but if he’s not healthy by the end of the month then my money’s on Dana Eveland. It just so happens that Eveland was called back up to the big league club yesterday. He’s going to get the start on short rest tonight in Boston against Beckett.

TransWorld SURF’s Cali Rally kicked off in at 15th st in Del Mar yesterday. Check out all the mayhem from Day 1. Team …Lost will be at the Hooters location in Oceanside tonight @ 6:30pm for their portion of the Cali Rally Wing Eating Challenge.
