Jimmie Johnson has a golden horseshoe in his ass!

By Logert, February 26, 2010 7:12 pm

I fucking love this guy… Haha! The dood that originally posted this video, obviously not a NASCAR fan. It’s Jimmie Johnson, not Jimmy. Has his name not been in print enough throughout the last four seasons? I saw Jimmie’s interview. In regard to Kevin’s comments, he said “to hell with him…”

Jamie McMurray: There’s no crying in NASCAR!

By Logert, February 15, 2010 10:38 am

Harvick loses the draft on the final green-white-checkered allowing the Bif to push his old teammate to the finish line at the Daytona 500.  Congrats to Jamie, but damn, pull it together bro.  You’re wife and dad are watching.  A stupid pothole and a bad final pit stop are in my opinion the reason Harvick doesn’t win his second Daytona 500.  Lame!

Harvick wins back-to-back Bud Shootouts

By Logert, February 7, 2010 9:38 am

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A bout with the flu and a lack of practice time didn’t seem to bother Kevin Harvick, who won Saturday night’s Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway for the second consecutive year.

In a green-white-checkered finish, Harvick took the lead on Lap 75 and earned the win when caution froze the field after a push from Jeff Gordon’s Chevrolet spun Greg Biffle’s Ford in Turn 3 and ignited a multi-car wreck that trashed the car of polesitter Carl Edwards, among others.

“I was sick on Thursday and didn’t even get to see a lap in the car, but this thing was a rocket, man,” said Harvick, the fourth back-to-back winner in Shootout history. – See The Video

Jimmie Johnson crashes at Daytona

By Logert, January 28, 2010 8:35 pm

DAYTONA BEACH — Defending, four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson crashed and suffered some bruising today in opening practice for this weekend’s Rolex 24 At Daytona at Daytona International Speedway. Johnson crashed in the left-hand kink area of Daytona’s 3.56-mile road course driving the No. 99 Bob Stallings Chevrolet Riley Daytona Prototype. “A GT car was very wide to the left and JJ assumed the GT saw him and was making way for the faster car,” team owner Bob Stallings said. “As it turns out, the GT probably did not see JJ and closed off on him. “Jimmie had to lift and get on the brake and as soon as he pointed the nose of the car down, the car turned on him and he backed it into the wall pretty hard. All the damage is on the back end of the car.” – More

Denny’s dream of being a pro basketball player blows up along with his knee…

By Logert, January 24, 2010 10:06 am

NASCAR star Denny Hamlin, widely considered Jimmie Johnson’s top threat in 2010, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee Friday playing pickup basketball, Hamlin told ESPN.com.

Hamlin said he still expects to compete, but surgery isn’t an option at this time since the Sprint Cup season begins in two weeks. He plans to have surgery to repair the knee after the 2010 season.

“I planted my foot to make a move toward the basket, and my knee just shot directly out to the left,” Hamlin said.

I’m spreading the rumor that he was one on one against Carl Edwards.  Edwards was up by a basket and it was Hamlin’s last chance to tie it up.  As Denny entered the paint, the bottom of Carl’s foot came into contact with Denny’s left knee.  No foul was hear over Denny shrieking cry so the game was called.  Edwards in celebration of the victory and with a bad foot still managed to complete a  backflip over the whaling Hamlin.  What a game!

Carl Edwards says he’s pleased with a new outreach program that has seen NASCAR officials meeting with drivers from each organization to talk about rule changes for next season. Among the rule changes being discussed are replacing the rear wing on the Sprint Cup car with a spoiler as well as rules to give the drivers more freedom on how they race at restrictor-plate tracks. – More

Tragidy Leads To A Safer Decade…

By Steve, December 30, 2009 5:16 pm

Dale Earnhardt-The Intimidator
The events unfold slowly, in exact detail, a perfect panorama of color and speed. By now, we know it frame-by-fame — the black car bending to the right, the climb up the banking, the inevitable impact and the out-of-control slide back down into the grass. But the collision itself, that actual clash of concrete and metal, happened blindingly fast — 80 milliseconds from 160 mph to zero, according to the final accident report. It seems ludicrous that an entire decade could turn on one incomprehensibly small unit of time. But not if that decade is the 2000s, and that fraction of a second is the one that took the life of Dale Earnhardt. So much about today’s NASCAR has been shaped by that terrible afternoon of Feb. 18, 2001, a dark day that was the epicenter of a larger safety crisis that wracked the sport for the better part of three years. Earnhardt’s fatal crash — preceded by those of Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin, and Tony Roper, and followed by devastating accidents involving Jeff Purvis, Steve Park and Jerry Nadeau — forced NASCAR to upgrade its safety standards, and did away with the antiquated notion that “implied risk” meant it was OK for drivers to die.
